We are now half way through the Year of Projects for this year and I’m going to take a quick review of how things are going with regards to my year of projects list.
The first section is garments and out of the nine garments listed 4 are complete and the next garment will be cast on shortly once I decide what that garment will be. I’m taking part in the #2019makenine challenge. One or two of the remaining garments are going to change in line with what the projects I’ve listed for that challenge.
The second section in the Year of Projects list is the sewing section. I’ve not made as much progress in this section as I would have liked. I hadn’t factored in the course I took up and the amount of work involved and that was the biggest thing that ate into my sewing garments time. Most of the course is finished so with more time and the #2019makenine challenge of just sewing projects I’m hoping that this section is going to catch up to the others. Again the projects in this section are going to change to the planned projects for the challenge because my taste in items I sew has changed slightly.
The last section is the sock section. I am hoping to complete 6 pairs this year in the year of projects and I’m half way with three complete pairs and the Aussie Sunshine pairs going to be finished by the end of December. This section is moving along nicely and I expect it to have no problem in getting completed with some extra pairs added in, even allowing for the frogged pairs listed.
So now lets take a look at this week progress, which has been made on a couple of projects. First up is my Cumulus Blouse which is now finished and bound off. The ends need to be sewn in and then it just needs a blocking, so does the Bentley Cardigan so I guess I’ll be getting to those over the holidays. But the Cumulus is so soft and warm and it’s just delicious to wear. I tried it on pre-blocking and I really didn’t want to take it off! I had high hopes for this jumper and it has lived up to those hopes. I’ve plans to knit a second version of this jumper at least!
The other project worked on were my Aussie Sunshine socks. I finished the first sock and made a start on the second sock so these are going to well and I expect them to be finished before the end of the December.
