I’m afraid this week, a bit like last week has much the same content.
I’m just so distracted this past month or so with running and walking and hiking that finding the balance is going to be key, certainly this time of year. I am thoroughly enjoying the time I am spending walking and running and am planning a lot more trail walks this coming summer. I have started a dedicated blog, An Bóithrín Beag, which is Irish for a little boreen or a little little road. Here I talk about and show some pictures I take from those adventures. I am imagining that the late Autumn and Winter will be quieter on that front and so making and creating will take more prominence in my life.
For now though I have made some progress on my Mae Cardigan. I am really liking the pattern and the cables add a lovely interest knit wise as well as visually amongst the stockinette. I really do like working with the Mondim yarn also, the colour I’m using is 110 so really it’s just a matter of me getting some time with the project to work on it.
I have been working some extra rows on the crochet blanket as well over the course of this past week but I’m not going to show a picture of it for a few more weeks because really it’s a blanket and apart from some extra rows doesn’t really change all that quickly.
I have completed picking one section of projects for next year’s YOP list, now I just need to sit down and take a look at what other sections I want as well as projects for them. 4 weeks to go, 3 really for updates with the last being reserved for the round up post.
So the list is looking like this;

It’s brilliant that you are enjoying your walks and runs, and I so enjoy seeing the snippets as well. Your new blog is gorgeous and I love seeing the snapshots on instagram. Mae is looking lovely.

Thank you Lucy, I love sharing them as much as getting out to walk and run.

If I had views so handy as you have I think I’d be hard-pressed to justify staying inside and working on anything. Though I imagine you sit outside often enough and knit. That’s lovely thought.
Glad you pointed out the cables on your Mae Cardigan, Ruth. So pretty!

It does seem a shame to be indoors all the time Becki, specially in the finer weather when the area is this beautiful.
It’s quite hard to see the cables on Mae at the moment with only a little complete and it being quite scrunched up already on the needles.

I can understand the lure of the outdoors at this time of year. Mae is looking lovely and you have accomplished a lot.

Thank you Nicola, I suppose I have considering how little I’ve gotten to it over the past few days. I hadn’t thought of it like that.

Your sweater is so pretty. You are getting skinny, girl! I can even tell in your face. Good for you if it makes you healthier and feel better. I cannot believe how much you’ve gotten done this year and I can’t wait to see your list for next year.

Thank you Sam, I’m definitely feeling much much healthier and the funny part is I wouldn’t have said I felt overly unhealthy before!

I just noticed there’s no strikethrough the test for your cuff top like your other FOs. I sometimes find I’m prioritising my YOP list over getting out on longer walks with the dog, but your walking photos on Instagram help nudge me out the door. I haven’t quite found the right balance between physical activity, chores and crafting…you look like you’ve found a balance that’s working for you and you can hear a happier tone in your words and an energy that’s infectious. I look forward to reading future posts on your walking blog too.

I have a material for a third cuff top cut out Liz that I just have to find time to get to and make, I think that’s why I haven’t struck it through just yet. Finding that balance is hard and I think some weeks you feel like doing one more than the other. I’m glad though that you are enjoying the posts, it’s a bit of a step away from what I usually post.

That is a pretty lilac you’re knitting up for your cardigan. You look terrific in your profile pic. You go on all of that exercise.
