Year of project’s is really moving along with the weeks right now, only 8 weeks remain and I took some time this week to take a look through some possible new project ideas as well as projects I’m thinking about adding. I like the planning of projects, as much as working on them and then the wrapping up. In the 8 years I’ve been doing it I still can’t decide which part of the process I like more!
But I digress, lets get back to this week and let me speak a little about the Magnolia sweater by Camilla Vad that is the project currently on my needles. Last week I had just begun the design on the bottom of the body. That is now complete along with the ribbing on the bottom of the body. The design although difficult did take longer but it didn’t really matter, it was relaxing and there is no particular rush on this project. I have moved on and picked up the sleeves for the first sleeve and I’m working the design on the bottom of it.
I didn’t get round to cutting out that cuff top either, I got distracted by some other projects this week, I made some posts about them as I was going.
- Project Focus post on the finished Gingerbread jumper.
- Project in Progress post on a current crochet blanket.
- Vintage Knitting Adventures post.
The plan for this week is to work away on Magnolia, put a couple of rows in possibly on the blanket but definitely move forward with the Vintage Knitting pattern which by the time I do the planning for the Magnolia may very well be finished and this can be my monogamous knitting project.
The list looks like this;

Your Magnolia is so pretty and feminine looking. I really like the design element on the bottom of the body and sleeves. You really knit fast! You will have that done in less than a month. WOW!
So many of you YOPPERs have already started working on next year’s ideas. I really need to start thinking about that too. I love the planning of the year too and laugh when the year is up to see how much I strayed from it.

The Magnolia really is a pretty jumper, I hope I like the circular yoke when it’s done…I’m not sure if I do.
Checking out how much is done and how much things have strayed is one of my favourite things about wrap up posts too!

I keep thinking about next year’s list and get distracted from finishing this year’s. You’ve done so well already and your penultimate knitted garment looks great. 8 weeks left! I need to go check my list again lol.

I keep thinking I’ve got May and June that’s loads of time and then I write it in weeks and I panic. I would really like that last garment knit and finished, I think at this point on the list Liz that’s my goal for the coming weeks.

Sounds like fun I just joined the Rav group I guess I’ll have to wait for the 2019 session. Your projects: so many great finished objects Wow

Oh how wonderful! It will be lovely having you join us and feel free to join in at any point that you wish, some people run from Jan to Jan some run with the original Jul to Jun and then others just join in when they want. But if you’d like to wait you can have lots of fun in compiling a list of things you’d like to accomplish with your making in the year.

All there is to say is how beautiful is the bottom of your Magnolia sweater, Ruth. So very beautiful. I imagine that is going to be a delight to wear. Only eight more weeks?!? I never get over how quickly a YOP year passes. I’m never ready for a new year. Then again… if I don’t make a list again, there’s not much to get ready for… I guess that combination works. ;^)

I think the bottom of the Magnolia is what makes this jumper Becki and the stitch definition of the Rauma is helping with it so much.
I think if the not list making works for you then I’d stick to that. It’s great how over the years how we make out lists evolves to change and work for each of us. And the YOP year does pass so quickly!

Thank you Mary-Anne! I don’t think you could have given any nicer of a comment. That is the one main thing I like to get across, that the process is just as enjoyable as the finished item, to my mind both should be enjoyed.
