This past week I picked up the extra buttons needed for my Coloring cardigan that I finished last week and that’s as far as I got with that. It seems that the faltering with this project lies in putting the buttons on. So it will be a surprise for you and me if I have it ready for next week or for a new episode of the podcast.
What I did work on this week was the Aster by Marie Amelie Designs. This has such an interesting construction with provisional cast on and stitches left on hold not just for the sides and back but for the neckline also. The Aster has now been joined altogether and I’m working on the body of it so for now it’s just a matter of knitting to pattern. I am planning on adding in waist shaping to this shortly. It’s not in the pattern but I like my garments with some shaping to them. I like how it helps the fit and look of them.
And that’s it, it’s been a monogamous kind of week again which doesn’t make for an exciting post but my knitting week has been relaxing and I’ve enjoyed it.
I have been checking out a few tutorials, on a couple of things I wasn’t clear on, for the Hollyburn Skirt and later, after dinner I’m going to cut that out. I’ve only made skirts before in a class, so the teacher has always been there on hand, but after reading through the instructions there were a couple of things I was wondering about so I looked up some tutorials, then there are a couple of things I want to do with the skirt that I wasn’t sure how to do, so I had to look those up to. You see where I’m going with this. In short I like to be prepared and know what I’m doing somewhat with it when I start.
Perhaps we shall have progress pictures of that next week? Who knows.
All that remains now is the list which lies unchanged from last week, but here it is none the less;

Better to sew the buttons on when the urge takes you. I’m glad you are enjoying the monogamous knitting, I had been thinking I was the only one which is why I’ve been giving it a go doing 3 projects at once. That’s a gorgeous shade of blue.

It’s so easy to think you are alone in this craft at times isn’t it and when you find like minded people it seems to make all the difference. It is a gorgeous blue but a bit of a beast to photograph just right.

I don’t think I’ve checked out the Aster pattern before. What a pretty design! I love the crossover on the front of the cardigan and the below-the-waist tie. Your blue yarn is just gorgeous and will make a wonderful Aster, Ruth.
